About the Programme
The MSc Applied Mathematics programme was started in the year 1975. The objective of this programme is to acquaint the students with various principles of Mathematics and train them to build & administer mathematical models to the problems in science and technology. This programme is also designed to expose the students to the various development and the applications of software, catering to the needs of the industries and R&D sectors. The programme is a perfect blend of Pure and Applied Mathematics with supporting laboratory courses to strengthen the knowledge of the students Programme follows meticulously planned curriculum based on Choice Based Credit System, updated regularly to meet the challenging requirements of the industry. The programme comprises a mini-project and a major project. The mini - project is to be done during the summer vacation at the end of the second semester. A six month major project is taken in the final semester at research institutions or software industries, thereby enabling them to have an opportunity to work in challenging environment. MSc Applied Mathematics alumni are well placed in top - notch industries, reputed academic institutions and research labs.

M.Sc. AM (2004-2006)
M.Sc Applied mathematics is a fascinating study of mathematical and computer science. It equipped me to understand complex models in real life and in software engineering. The tools and techniques learned in Applied mathematics are readily useful for day to day jobs. Be it future in mathematics or in software engineering, we have a unique advantage in knowing the best of both worlds. As much as learning rigorous mathematics is necessary, don't lose the fun in making good friends, working as a team and getting things done. In the end, that is what matters most. We enjoyed it and were successful because we worked as a whole class and had fun at it.

Data Science Analytics Analyst – Applied Intelligence,Accenture AI, Bangalore.
M.Sc. AM (2019–2021)
The application of mathematics to actual concerns is the focus of this subject. This major is a fantastic decision I've made. It sits at the intersection of theoretical academics and technical science. It greatly aids me in developing mathematical models to address physical and theoretical issues. We developed the greatest amount of growth both in mathematical and computational with an enormous quantity of information in both theoretical and practical with the support of magnificent professors’ direction. And we accomplish a lot thanks to the tremendous assistance of all faculty members who have extensive exposure both on and off the PSG Tech campus. All of my classmates are standing in their own uniqueness as they identify their strengths through this incredible course.

Intern at Zoho
M.Sc. AM (2020-2022)
The Applied Mathematics course at AMCS department provided me the opportunity to do my internship at Zoho Corporation Pvt Ltd., Chennai. I gained sufficient knowledge and developed my learning towards the field of Computer Science. The faculty of the department taught well with the appropriate syllabus along with modern electives required to incorporate the applications of Mathematics in Computer Science. It also gives the exposure to pursue research in either of the fields.

Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam, Kerala.
M.Sc. AM (2008-2010)
I joined PSG Tech with a dream of getting a doctorate. I completed my BSc Applied sciences and joining MSc Applied Mathematics at PSG Tech was one of the best decisions I have made. The course prepared me for my future. I did my research at NIT Calicut in AI based stock market decision making. The MSc program made me a versatile person balancing intellect both in Mathematics and Computer Science. The result being able to teach linear algebra and data structures for BTech Computer Science Engineering. The best foundation for the future of a person who loves both Math and technology equally. MSc Applied Mathematics will equip you with strong foundations in both areas. The course under the brand PSG Tech is always a treasure. My batch mates are also proud scientists, professors and IT professionals.
